What is Tissue Mineral Analysis?

Are you supplementing blindly with vitamins and minerals without knowing the actual deficiencies and excesses that your body may be experiencing? Over time, you can increase mineral deficiencies or excesses along with creating imbalances between key minerals. Just like in our garden soil, the correct ratio of minerals can be just as important as the ideal amounts of minerals. Or maybe you have made changes in your diet and lifestyle, but still feel like something is missing? Tissue Mineral Analysis is a test that measures the mineral content of your hair.  Hair contains minerals that reflect the mineral content of the other tissues in your body. A hair tissue mineral analysis measures the mineral accumulation over (roughly) a three month period of time. This provides a broader view of metabolic activity than other tests which are more susceptible to day-to-day fluctuations caused by diet and stress. I use the lab test from Analytical Research Labs, Inc. Analytical Research Labs, Inc. differs from other labs as they test for 21 different minerals and toxic metals.  The hair samples are also unwashed, which better preserves water soluble elements. When you sign up for a tissue mineral analysis, I will send you an order form and hair test envelope as well as instructions for taking the hair sample.  When the results come back from the lab, I will meet with you to discuss the findings of your test and will offer dietary, lifestyle, and supplementation suggestions.

Common Causes of a Mineral Imbalance:

  • Improper Diet

  • Taking vitamins and minerals which are not compatible with your body chemistry

  • Medications

  • Birth Control Pills

  • Stress

  • Accumulation of toxic metals

  • Inheritance of mineral patterns from parents.
